Job Description
Summary

We are looking for a Food Production Manager to lead cold and hot food production in accordance with applicable federal, state, and corporate standards, guidelines, and regulations with established policies and procedures.

Essential Functions
  • Direct and assist all food production-related activities, including production, safety, sanitation, and regulatory compliance.
  • Provides services that are above and beyond for customer satisfaction and retention.
  • Understands business implications of decisions; demonstrates knowledge of company financial measures; aligns work with strategic goals.
  • Supports organization’s goals and values; respects diversity; promotes quality and safe work habits.
  • Coordinate production process to increase productivity and improve process controls.
  • Manage production schedules and processes to minimize overtime.
  • Manage workforce accountability for food quality, safety, and productivity.
  • Provide direction, guidance, and assistance to employees to enable them to work more effectively.
  • Work with internal and external departments.
  • Ensure that all production-related records and reports are prepared and maintained timely and accurate.
  • Motivate employees by giving positive feedback, always in a respectful manner.
  • Manage workforce to cross-train employees and rotate employees regularly.
  • Ensure meal processing counts and deadlines are met by checking line progress regularly.
  • Ensure accurate counts are produced to specification.
  • Ensure employees accurately measure portion control by conducting regular verifications.
  • Follow all procedures for reporting Worker’s Compensation incidents and accidents.
  • Train employees in production processes and portion control.
  • Proactively engage in employee relations issues to resolve them effectively and promptly.
  • Manage storage and rotation of daily food production overages to minimize waste.
  • Hold regular communication meetings with employees to review production results, safety, and hygiene.
  • Communicate schedule changes.
  • Ensure employees have the proper tools and equipment needed for production.
  • Ensure that HACCP, GMP, and USDA standards are achieved and completed.
  • Ensure customer production and labeling requirements are achieved.
 Skills and Qualifications
  • A minimum of 3-5 years supervising a food production environment.  A combination of experience and education is preferable.
  • Must have excellent employee engagement, communication, organizational, problem-solving, results-driven focus, decisive decision-making, and time management skills.
  • Must possess demonstrated leadership and process knowledge.
  • Working knowledge of HACCP, USDA, and FDA compliance.
  • Knowledge of HACCP requirements, USDA, GMP, and sanitation requirements
  • Knowledge of cold/hot food production processes.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Computer skills (Microsoft).
  • Inventory knowledge.
  • Knowledge of quality systems and standards.
  • Knowledge of production and manufacturing techniques.
  • Business knowledge, finance, and management principles.
  • Knowledge of Kitchen machines and tools.
