7p-7a 3 nights a week; some dayshift needs for meetings.

Position Requirements:

  • Bachelor`s degree in Nursing plus 3-4 years` clinical experience in a pediatric emergency room setting.
  • Leadership experience as a charge nurse.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and work cohesively with a diverse work group.
  • Utilization of critical thinking in timely decision making.
  • Current RN licensure in Illinois.

Purpose:

To assist the Clinical Manager in providing administrative and clinical leadership. To serve as a unit leader and clinical nurse resource. To help plan coordinate and manage personnel and resources to provide the highest quality patient care with trained professional and competent staff in the most cost-effective manner. To provide for the ongoing educational and professional development of staff. In conjunction with the Manager will collaborate with physicians and other health care disciplines to assure optimal patient care.

Accountabilities:

  • Performance of the principle duties and responsibilities of the RN position and serves as a role model for professional practice.
  • In collaboration with the clinical Director manages patient care delivery to optimize patient outcomes customer satisfaction and resource management.
  • Promotion and support of an environment that is conducive to staff growth and development and autonomy.
  • Participates in developing the strategic plan direction for the unit and utilizes CQI techniques in collaboration with the Clinical Manager
