Regional Laboratory Manager

Key Responsibilities
Responsible for the finished product output of the Quality Assurance laboratories located at the Hub and ESG plants. Output will by managed by working with local Branch Management and working hands on with local lab staff to provide training, ensure equipment reliability, and improve laboratory through put.
Supports National Laboratory and Quality Assurance strategic plans by ensuring the achievement of performance targets and strategic initiatives by setting and meeting operational goals.
Ensures adherence to all laboratory testing protocols and work instructions.
Installs and commissions new laboratory equipment, including the preparation of work instructions, and operator training.Trains local technicians on basic troubleshooting principles, co-ordinates advanced trouble shooting and repair.Oversees equipment inventory, lab standards, and spare parts.Upgrades systems to best practice.
Consults with Director of Laboratory Operations to determine equipment purchase priorities based on budget allowances, condition of existing equipment, and production loading. Manages laboratory capital and expense budgets.
Works with local lab staff to periodically evaluate new equipment and methods.
Teaches laboratory sessions on basic chemistry, ideal gas laws, analytical principles, detector operations, and math to insure technician proficiency.
Manages customer interface for quality assurance audits, quality assurance issues, and new business opportunities.
Provide technical support to customers and sales reps via phone, in person, and e-mail.
Performs on-site audits and other verifications to insure that work instructions, procedures, and work practices are consistently followed.
Prepares trip and audit reports, establishes and follows up on action plans, holds regularly scheduled lab meetings to ensure operational capabilities.

Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or curriculum equivalent in analytical chemistry is required.
Minimum of three years' experience analyzing compressed and liquefied gases.
Three to five years production or laboratory supervisory experience.
Direct experience with quality auditing, developing work instructions and procedures, and use of statistical software packages such as Minitab.
Solid understanding of analytical statistics, including measurement uncertainty.
Experience with certifying FDA products, method validation, gravimetric blending or ISO 17025 a plus.

50% Travel Required
