Senior Electrical Designer – Position and Responsibilities
As a Senior Electrical Designer with Middough, you will create and establish designs consistent with good practices, client requirements and conformance to Codes & Standards. Senior Designers also layout conduit and cable systems, design/layout junction box, design/layout marshalling panel systems, layout grounding, compile conduit and cable schedules, and work with the engineering team to design and draft equipment installation details. Senior Electrical Designer – Position and Responsibilities
As a Senior Electrical Designer with Middough, you will create and establish designs consistent with good practices, client requirements and conformance to Codes & Standards. Senior Designers also layout conduit and cable systems, design/layout junction box, design/layout marshalling panel systems, layout grounding, compile conduit and cable schedules, and work with the engineering team to design and draft equipment installation details. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Develop bill of materials and obtain quotes for electric hardware and various instrumentation items.
- Collaborate with the design team of engineers and drafters to produce a complete drawing installation package.
- Perform field walk downs to determine raceway and cable routing.
- Design components and terminations for complete instrumentation interconnect wiring diagrams.
- Create physical layout drawings, equipment details, conduit routing, grounding, and cable schedules.
- Generate wiring diagrams from electrical schematics.
Education, Experience and Skills
The successful candidate will possess the following:
- Associate’s degree in a technical discipline or related experience preferred.
- 8+ years of drafting experience preferred.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD 2D is required.
- Plant 3D, Revit, or other 3D design software knowledge is preferred.
- Working knowledge of National Electric Codes, reference documents and guides.
- Knowledge of power distribution (12KV and 480V, lighting, grounding, and motor controls).
- Experience in electrical design in energy, chemical or industrial experience preferred.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and attention to detail abilities.
- Strong multitasking and organizational abilities for efficiency.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

- May require occasional car or air travel to other company locations or client sites.
- This position requires the candidate/employee to possess and maintain a valid driver's license in their state of residence.
