JOB SUMMARY: Responsible to supervise shipping, receiving, warehousing, and transportation activities and personnel. Oversee shipping and Receiving Clerks, Scale Operators and Forklift Operators.


JOB DUTIES:

1. Well versed in shipping and receiving operations & personnel on shift.

2. Prepare finished loads for shipment, including labeling, staging, and record keeping.

3. Uses dispatch board to update dispatcher of shipments available

4. Prepare shipping documents for outbound shipments and check accuracy.

5. Monitor daily task list and press schedule to ensure necessary shipments are complete on time.

6. Oversees all paper inventory and basic warehouse operations

7. Provide administrative support on all shipping programs(technique/adsi/starship)

8. Oversees the managing of our group email address (shiprecgilman@sg360.com)

9. Monitors the loading or unload material from trucks using a fork lift/clamp truck, manual jack, or dolly.

10. Operate trailer locking, dock plate, overhead door, and banding/wrapping equipment as needed.

11. Keep warehouse/dock areas secured so that unauthorized personnel are denied access.

12. Keep warehouse/dock areas neatly organized and clean.

13. Distribute incoming material shipments as needed.

14. Perform office functions during shift - driver check in, paperwork, make labels, etc.

15. Communicate with other departments regarding shipping activities as necessary.

16. Cover office phone(s) and be able to provide information or answer questions as needed.

17. Ensure that all lift trucks and equipment used on shift are inspected as required.

18. Maintain a comprehensive communication flow between shifts.

19. Track and report to manager any problems or issues that arise.

20. Assist in training new personnel that are added to the department.

21. Complete various other related tasks as assigned by manager.

Requirements

JOB SKILLS: Above average English oral and written communication skills. Average math skills. Average typing and computer skills. Average organizational skills and ability to handle multiple tasks. Average interpersonal and telephone skills.


JOB KNOWLEDGE: Superior knowledge of the shipping/receiving/transportation process. Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows, Office 2010, and similar programs along with strong computer skills.


EDUCATION & TRAINING: High School diploma. Training as required by OSHA regulations. Operation of the Segerdahl computer/data collection system. Operation of equipment used in the shipping/receiving department offices. All reports relevant to inventory, shipping and receiving activities.


EXPERIENCE: Three years of experience supervising warehouse or shipping/receiving department, or 10 years of experience in warehousing, shipping, and receiving functions.


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Full motion/motor skills in all body parts, and ability to lift 50 pounds.
