The Director of Financial Planning & Analysis will be responsible for leading the team and processes to facilitate accurate and timely financial close and reporting processes. They will provide leadership and oversight in the planning and system ownership, influencing, directing and engaging leaders across the organization. They are responsible for developing the infrastructure (team and system) for robust financial planning, evaluation and reporting, category management, and customer centric data analytics.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

* Oversee the annual planning and budgeting process, period forecasting and actual reporting against these. Leads the 5-year planning process.

* Development, analysis and interpretation of ROI, statistical and accounting information in order to appraise operating results in terms of profitability, performance against budget and other determinants bearing on fiscal soundness and operating effectiveness of the organization.

* Drives the capital planning process, including planning, evaluation of projects, prioritization, tracking of spend, and reporting back to the business.

* Develops, mentors, coaches and manages finance staff ensuring the development of employees through establishing objectives, providing cross-functional initiatives and efforts

* Prepares profit and loss statements and monthly closing and accounting reports. This includes management reporting and board reporting presentations as needed.

* Prepare cash flow forecast as needed to ensure coverage of disbursements due

* Reviews ROI analysis for impact of business changes or new programs and determines how the impact the financial plans. Assesses and reports the actual impacts after implementation.

* Responsible for reporting on key business metrics and including performance planning and analysis goals for the stores

* Act as financial business partner and liaison with Merchandising and Operations leadership on large cross functional projects

* Provide short- and long-term financial insight, analysis and recommendations on monthly P&L

* Other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience

* Bachelor's degree in business or accounting related field required.

* 4-6 years of CPG experience preferred

* Preferred 5+ years leadership experience in Finance department processes and procedures.

* Knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles including generally Accepted Accounting Principles.

* Strong financial and analytical skills and the ability to explain financial concepts to executives

* Expert level knowledge in Microsoft Excel and Power Point

* Knowledge of Federal and State financial regulations.

* Ability to adapt to the ever-changing high-volume retail while working in a cross-functional team environment.

* Must have the capacity to take initiative for making appropriate decisions and have strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

* Flexibility to adapt in a variety of situations.

* Must have advanced attention to detail with the capability to prioritize and meet deadlines.

* Excellent written communication and documentation skills.

* Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills for maintaining effective business relationships with peers, senior management, customers, and vendors.

* Must have advanced knowledge with MS Office including Outlook, Word, and Excel.

* Ability to multitask and have excellent organizational skills is essential.

* Must be able to lead, support and contribute to team goals.

* Ability to work varied hours/days as business dictates.

Work Environment/Physical Demands

* Prolonged sitting in front of a computer.

* The potential for prolonged standing, walking, squatting and/or bending.

* Occasional high stress when dealing with systems/customers/staff.
