Position Summary

The Research and Compliance Associate in the Office of Institutional Research (OIR) supports compliance, continuous improvement, and a culture of data-informed decision making at the college by working with the Director to prepare and submit state and federally mandated reports, conduct survey research, facilitate program review processes, fulfill data/research requests, and work collaboratively with colleagues inside and outside the department to address data/research needs.

Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities

  • Assist in the preparation and on-time submission of state and federally mandated reports such as Management Information Systems (MIS) reports to the Illinois Community College Board (ICCB) and annual survey submissions to the Integrated Postsecondary Education Data System (IPEDS). Collaborate with internal offices as needed.
  • Use college data systems and tools (e.g., Web Intelligence reports, PowerBI dashboards, Microsoft Excel documents) to conduct methodologically sound statistical analyses of institutional and environmental factors such as enrollment, course outcomes, completion, transfer, employment, labor market trends, and local demographics to address research needs. Prepare clear and visually appealing reports suited to a variety of internal and external audiences.
  • Work with the Director of IR to facilitate the college's academic and non-academic program review processes including the administration of annual surveys, maintenance of review workbooks in collaboration with IT, communications and training for stakeholders, preparation of resource materials, and submission of final reports to ICCB.
  • Assist in the administration of regular institutional surveys (e.g., CCSSE, Noel Levitz, PACE) including internal communication plans, resources, logistics, and reporting.
  • Work with the Director to design, program, administer, analyze, and report internal ad hoc surveys as requested to meet stakeholder needs using SurveyMonkey, EvaluationKit, and/or the college's optical mark scanner technology (for paper-based surveys).
  • Assist in the administration of the college's biannual graduate follow-up surveys including internal online data collection and collaboration with external call center.
  • Assist in preparing and submitting data and information to external agencies such as NCCBP, Peterson's, College Board, NC-SARA, NSC, and HLC as assigned.
  • Provide data in support of the college's gainful employment and Student Right to Know responsibilities; work with the Office of Marketing and Public Relations to ensure public website data are current and accurate.
  • Fulfill internal ad-hoc OIR project requests as assigned.
  • Maintain security of confidential student and employee information.
  • Represent OIR on college committees as assigned.
  • Assume additional duties as assigned by immediate supervisor.
Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution with background in research methods and statistics, or an equivalent combination of experience and education.
  • One year of work experience in a related area.
