Job Description

What we are looking for

We are looking for a CAD designer who can think on their feet and can collaborate with project managers, engineers, and scientists. You will contribute to our continued growth in environmental and civil engineering. You have the option to work remotely, in one of our offices in Chicago (Naperville), IL, Madison, WI, or work a hybrid schedule between office(s) and home. We value your workstyle preference as you contribute to our team.

How you can make an impact

  • Develop engineering plan sets, including site layouts, mass grading plans, construction details, plans and profiles, cross sections, and earthwork volume calculations using AutoCAD Civil3D.
  • Develop survey point lists, alignments, and earthwork surfaces for field construction purposes.
  • Develop as-built documentation drawings
  • Check drawings for completeness and accuracy
  • Develop 2D and 3D renderings, when required
  • Work with engineers or scientists in project work
  • Assist with the development and maintenance of CAD standards
  • Coordinate work with other drafters or CAD designers within our region.
  • Assist with the integration of CAD with other technology solutions (e.g., GIS, drones, AI, etc.).

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of prior work experience in AutoCAD Civil3D and drafting for civil engineering.
  • Experience in preparing engineering plan sets, including site layouts, mass grading plans, construction details, plans and profiles, cross sections, and earthwork volume calculations
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and within teams.
  • Strong oral communication skills, keen attention to detail, and adept at incorporating and responding to instructions and feedback from team members.
  • Experience in generating both 2D and 3D renderings (e.g. Revit, Maya) is not required, but preferred

The pay range for this position is $65,000 to $100,000/year depending on experience with additional bonuses and our Employee Stock Ownership Plan.
