Job Description
Summary

The Psychology Program, housed within the Division of Social Sciences of the College of Liberal Arts & Education at Saint Xavier University, invites applications for a full-time, one-year contract lecturer, with the possibility of future renewal(s) based on performance. The area of expertise is open, but we particularly invite applicants with expertise in developmental, sociocultural, quantitative methods, clinical/counseling, cognitive, or biological psychology.


Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Teach a full load of psychology courses related to one's area of expertise (12 credit hours each semester)
  • Provide service to the program, including being available for the advising of undergraduates in-person and online
  • Participate in Division, College, and University faculty meetings, academic initiatives, and campus events

Qualifications

  • Doctorate (Ph.D.) in psychology or a closely related discipline (ABD applicants will be considered, contingent on a successful doctoral defense prior to August 19, 2024
  • Evidence of effective post-secondary teaching including high-impact practices
  • Cultural competencies to work effectively in a Minority Serving Institution (MSI)
