Job Description

The role is responsible for facilitation of Training & Education Program sessions housed in the Division of Adolescent and Young Adult Medicine's Community Programs & Initiatives. The Facilitator will support a range of programs including Gender Equity Trainings, Sexuality Health Education, and Substance Use Prevention Education.

Job Duties:

  • Provide in-person and virtual facilitation for Training & Education Program sessions.
  • Support Community Program & Initiatives Coordinators to ensure that curricula remain relevant, responsive, and updated. Supports building and maintaining relationships with schools and community and business partners to further advance programmatic and training goals.
  • Supports the completion of all necessary regulatory documents and reporting as required by grantors, as necessary.
  • Lead social support groups for Gender Program including play, preteen, and teen group
  • Will support Adolescent Med Community Programs team in outreach events including tabling and festivals.
  • Collaborates with Communication Coordinator in creation and dissemination of relevant educational content.
  • Participate in Division and community meetings, as needed.
  • Performs job functions adhering to service principles with customer service focus of innovation, service excellence and teamwork to provide the highest quality care and service to our patients, families, co-workers, and others.
  • Evening and weekend availability required.
  • Other job functions as assigned.

Knowledge, skills, and abilities:

  • This position requires a high school diploma or 3-years' experience in coordinating client-focused programming and managing scheduling.
  • Experience in facilitation of health education required.
  • Knowledge of sexuality health education, substance use education, and/or LGBTQ+ and gender inclusion preferred.
  • Must demonstrate strong interpersonal and written communication skills, and ability to work effectively with diverse staff and populations, including individuals from communities of color and LGBTQ+.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Microsoft Office proficiency preferred.
  • Expectation to work occasional nights and weekends to accommodate facilitation schedules.
  • Spanish speaking preferred.
  • Demonstrate fluency and clarity in written and oral communication.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of programmatic scopes, including the ability to present the project objectives fluently.
  • Ability to establish priorities and react promptly to a large variety of requests and needs, sometimes in stressful situations.
  • Driver's license required.
