Under general supervision, is responsible for the daily care of an assigned group of children.

You Will:

• Monitors and establishes the care necessary for each child's needs consistent with their age and stage of development; develops and executes programs/activities designed to encourage the social, physical and intellectual development of children in the group.
• Ensures the children are adequately fed, rested and physically clean.
• Provides initial instruction and assistance in developing the child's interest in play and control of physical functions.
• Assesses each child's development and reports perceived problems to the Teacher or Administrator; assists in finding appropriate solutions.
• Ensures the group of children are exposed to emergency and evacuation procedures through periodic drills and games.
• Establishes and maintains a positive rapport with students' parents and co-teachers and participates in parent conferences when necessary.
• Responsible for the arrangement, appearance, decor, cleanliness and learning environment of the classroom.
• Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.
• Abides by and is responsible for performing all duties in accordance with all environmental, health and safety regulations and practices pertinent to this position.

We Are Looking For:

Minimum Required Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or GED. Child Development Associate (CDA) credential or 12 complete semester hours in early childhood education and/or child development within one (1) year of employment.
• 1+ year of experience teaching in an early care/education classroom.
• Must maintain at least 25 annual hours of continuing education in the childcare field, with a focus in early education.

Applicable Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

• Training and/or certification in child abuse and neglect, safe sleep, first aid, blood borne pathogens, and CPR.
