  • Estimated annual base pay: $106,700.00 - $133,400.00 (midpoint) - $160,100.00 USD Annual

Are you ready to make your mark? The Server Administrator reports to the IT Infrastructure leader. This position is responsible for the monitoring, installation, maintenance, support, overall operational stability of our server and storage infrastructure to allow user access to local-site and enterprise applications. Responsible for researching/implementing emerging technology while ensuring future flexibility and growth for our environment. Also specializing in more critical services, virtualization, domain level items, and /or storage/replication/data recovery systems. infrastructure as well as solution design and performance optimization in these areas. The Server Administrator is able to work independently with minimal supervision.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Install physical or configure virtual local and enterprise servers. Install, configure and maintain associated operating system and application software (e-mail, database, backup, etc.) as required. Evaluate and select new server hardware and software products. Plan and execute server and associated software upgrades for the enterprise. Lead and mentor team members in identifying opportunities for improvement and optimization of the enterprise server and storage infrastructure. Develop standards for deployment across the enterprise.

  • Installation, maintenance, and administration of servers, storage, and other related equipment at global locations. Manage server security configuration and patching while ensuring availability of web, database, and application servers at global sites for the enterprise. Analyze, design and Implement system upgrades globally.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software problems. Responsible for resolving issues with enterprise-level systems. Provide 1st/2nd/3rd level of server system support by addressing issues, questions, and problems.

  • Design and implement backup solutions for the enterprise. Develop, design, implement and test disaster recovery plans for the local site and for the enterprise as required. Evaluate and select standard backup and disaster recovery software, hardware and services as appropriate.

  • Participate on and lead Global IT project teams as required. Lead/facilitate operational improvement projects with varying degrees of complexity.

  • Work with hardware and software vendors as required to procure, install and resolve issues with enterprise products.

  • Mentoring of Server Administrators, promoting teamwork/collaboration, and fostering a strong commitment to customer service.

  • Provide technical guidance to Woodward IT members world-wide; provide IT infrastructure support to Woodward's global user base.

What We Are Looking For

  • Bachelor degree required- Preferably in Information Systems or Computer Science.

  • 10+ yearsexperience with server, storage and/or network administration with global, enterprise responsibilities

  • 2-5+ years Solution design experience

  • Project management experience preferred

  • 2-5 years experience with installation, trouble-shooting and support of an enterprise system hardware/software infrastructure required

  • A solid knowledge of industry trends, and experience with designing enterprise server/storage environments while balancing performance, cost, availability, and security required

  • Experience migrating and administering Windows workloads in the cloud is a plus

  • Experience in a global, collaborative and team-oriented environment

  • Some travel may be required

  • Will be on-call for after-hours issues every 7-8 weeks. Needs to be available for maintenance and implementation work during Sunday planned downtime windows as required.
