Establishes and maintains high morale while supervising construction crews. Demonstrates mastery and safe use of equipment and materials, and ensures all necessary inspections are completed.
Supervises and directs a work crew in a variety of tasks. Assists with the training and development of crew members.
Ensures and monitors the crew's safety practices. Leads and performs Job Hazard Analysis during daily Foreman's Huddle meetings.
Produces highly productive cycle times for labor, equipment and materials. Identifies and evaluates job cost reduction strategies.
Ensures all equipment, materials and small tools are in safe operating condition. Ensures Equipment Walk-around, DOT Vehicle, and pre-operational inspections are routinely and fully completed.
Enforces OSHA, MSHA, FRA, and DOT regulations for the site for all subcontractor crews and visitors.
Plans the necessary labor, equipment and materials on a daily and weekly schedule, including the Short Interval Plan (three-week look ahead), to avoid re-work, double handling of materials, etc.)
Displays professional ethics. Complies with and enforces company policies for handling complaints, eliminating harassment and assuring non-discriminatory actions among all workers.
Issues conduct warnings, when necessary, that are consistent with the employee handbook, the job site and the company.
Develops and maintains good working relationships with clients, subcontractors, vendors and co-workers. Represents the company in a professional manner.
Recommends promotions and terminations of crew members to the superintendent. Performs other duties per supervisor's discretion.
Reading, writing and comprehension skills normally acquired through completion of high school. At least one year of experience supervising or working on a construction crew.
Must be familiar with concrete assembly and/or construction of various concrete forms, pile driving, concrete and anchor bolt placement.
