Position Description
The eLearning Associate supports the BLN Assistant Director in the maintenance of the Community of Learning portal that will serve as a hub for disseminating and sharing this knowledge through creative use of technology and leveraging a multitude of resources from OPF/BLN and strategic partners. The eLearning Associate is responsible for modifications or enhancements to existing Intranet web programs and technology-based training and learning events. This position requires up to 10% travel to sites with some overnight stays.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND KEY TASKS
• Coordinate, advise, and assist in routine website and Intranet content support and design.
• Implements communications strategy and market plan for the Community of Learning.
• Contributes to storyboarding, authoring, and development of e-learning content and blended learning solutions.
• Provides administration support for the Learning Management System (LMS- SimplyDigi),
• Communicates with BLN staff/content experts/faculty regarding technical requirements of Intranet Web sites and/or upcoming projects or events related to the Intranet Web sites.
• Evaluates operations, and recommends improvements and modifications of Intranet Web programs to meet the site members current and future needs.
• Collaborates with the Assistant Director in maintaining, updating, and supporting existing applications and components of the BLN Knowledge Base built on the SharePoint platform.
• Develop direct reports around delivery of results and demonstration of leadership within their respective Communities of Practice learning groups.
• Coordinates the technology platform used to effectively support Communities of Practice and overall learning and sharing initiatives.
• Serves as champion for learning and knowledge, by researching internal/external resources and best practices that can be shared, distributed, and adapted on the Community of Learning portal.
• Create effective channels and creative solutions for the transfer and dissemination of knowledge throughout the network via the BLN Intranet and EducareCenters.org website.
• Collaborates with the Assistant Director in supporting the Quality Review team, Faculty, consultants and content experts in the production of trainings and learning events. Assistance may include staffing design meetings and follow up activities.

• Participates in BLN Division meetings and Ounce committees and workgroups, as requested.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES
• Experience working with e-learning and blended learning programs, web-based training development, and asynchronous learning content.
• Foundation knowledge and understanding of learning theory and instructional design techniques.
• Experience in developing original and innovative technical and related process training programs, workshops and demonstrations; experience developing instructor-led training materials and self-paced learning content.
• Excellent written and verbal English skills for the purpose of documentation development, online content, editing and communication.
• Highly self-motivated and self-managed; ability to work independently and as part of a team with minimal coaching or supervision.
• Ability to organize and work under strict time and production deadlines, while producing quality deliverables.
• Knowledge of current trends and issues in early childhood and staff development strategies.
• Proficient with computer applications, including a thorough understanding of Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Office programs & learning technologies and media. Knowledge of databases, and ability to learn and master other computer technology programs as needed.
• Ability to promote and maintain effective internal and external communication among a diverse group of staff, faculty, consultants and sites.
• Must be able to function effectively leading and serving on teams.
• Must be able to represent the division and organization in professional and public settings.
EDUCATIONAL AND WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
• Bachelor’s degree in Education, Instructional Design or Information Technology, or equivalent industry experience or certification.
• Minimum 3 years experience in project management, information sharing systems and web based learning. Two or more years solid experience in a functional training role with emphasis on information sharing and technology.
