Internship Summary: The American Cancer Society, Illinois Division, has an exciting internship opportunity available in our Income Development department. The Income Development Intern will primarily help plan and execute our signature event, Relay for Life. Responsibilities include: helping to plan monthly team captain and committee meetings; implement marketing and advertising in targeted communities; contact local service organizations; coordinate volunteers; help recruit new volunteers; develop and distribute press releases for newspapers, church bulletins etc.
Please note that this is an unpaid internship.
Position Requirements
All intern candidates must:
- demonstrate a relationship between their projected major field of study and the work of the American Cancer Society
- be full-time college students in good academic standing, completing their freshman year
- demonstrate a B average (cumulative 3.0 on 4.0 scale)
- plan to continue their education in the following session
