Westwood - River Oaks is looking for a Student Retention Coordinator.
The Student Retention Coordinator is responsible for the management of retention efforts for in-school absentee students and for soliciting withdrawn students to re-enter the College. The Retention Coordinator works with Student Services, Financial Aid, Education and Business Office, as needed, to maximize results of student retention and re-entry.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Creates a daily list of students absent from classes more than two (2) days and makes contact with these students to help re-sell them into the College. Shares the roster of absent students in their first three terms with Admissions.
Collaboratively works with all College Administration to identify target students withdrawn from the College within six (6) months of the next term start date. Identifies campus barriers to re-admissions and resolves with appropriate administrator(s).
Makes telephone contact with each withdrawn student previously identified. Re-sells the features and benefits of a Westwood College degree and schedules the withdrawn student for an appointment to complete all necessary re-entry paperwork.
Coordinates with Financial Aid, Business Office and Education to ensure that the re-entered student is financially packaged and scheduled for classes for the upcoming term.
Maintains routine contact with re-entered students after the term starts to help assure the success of the re-entered students.
OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Attends weekly Student at Risk meetings to discuss absentee students and re-entered student that are at significant risk to withdraw from the College along with action plans to retain the student.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Competent knowledge of the features and benefits of career education
Skill:
PC literacy
Telemarketing skill is beneficial
Education: BS preferred
Experience: one year admissions or sales position
Ability:
Ability to work with all types of people, to assume facilitator and occasionally lead role, and to affect timely submissions from others required.
Ability to multi-task and change project priorities.
Flexibility and the ability to complete assigned project. Ability to work independently.
Ability to communicate professionally, with clarity and brevity, requiredboth orally and in writing.
