Description:
This position requires characterization of heat-seeking missiles including missile sensitivity, spectral responsivity and maximum track-rate. It requires analysis of missile electrical function and modeling/simulation of missile aerodynamics. The position requires full six-degree-of-freedom modeling/simulation of missile/target engagements with the objective of generating effective countermeasures techniques. Basic qualifications: Candidates should possess an understanding of optics, optical modeling, radiometrics, electronics, electronics modeling, and aerodynamics, and candidate should be familiar with current hardware and digital approaches to missile engagement simulation. Preferred qualifications: a Master of Science degree in Physics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field, with a minimum of 5 years direct experience in missile modeling and characterization is desired. Education: T5- Bachelors degree plus 14-19 years of relevant experience or Masters degree plus 12-17 years of relevant experience. T6 - Bachelors degree and 20 plus years of relevant experience or Masters degree and 18 plus years of relevant experience. US Citizenship and the ability to obtain a DoD Secret clearance required.
Common Job Description:
Performs technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems. Analyses are performed at all levels of total system product to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal. Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints. Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.
