The RN reviews physicians' referrals and patient's medical records to determine type of home care services needed. The RN follows physicians' plan of treatment. Administers prescribed medications as ordered by physicians and monitors patient's response to medication. Assesses for pain and utilizes pain management. Reports patient status to physician. Supervises care given by aides.
The RN is responsible for a scope of care that encompasses all ages from infancy through geriatric. Assess patient's physical, functional, mental and emotional needs on an ongoing basis, their need for assistance in activities of daily living and coordinates the plan of care with physician, patient, family and other members of the healthcare team.
Requirements: Current license as an RN and current drivers license in the State of Illinois. Minimum of one year current experience in acute and home care setting required. Current IV, high tech, and pediatric experience preferred but not required. Must be competent with IV therapy, possess strong med/surg and maternal/child background. Must demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide age-appropriate care to those served, including the principles of growth and development, as well as the physical, emotional and psycho-social needs of patient population.
