Position Description

The Transportation Management Centers (TMCs) Controller (Finance and Reporting Manager: F&RM) manages the divisions finances and our customers freight spend. F&RM provides leadership and coordination of financial planning, debt financing, payables, receivables, and budget management functions.

Reporting:
Oversee TMC reporting functions both internally and externally utilizing the appropriate tool (e.g., Excel, Crystal, Qlik-View) for the specific application. F&RM provides centralized coordination of all reporting; ensuring that these are timely, accurate and consistent reporting that meets internal/external customers expectations.

Financial:
Oversee TMC financial planning, debt financing, and budget management functions. The candidate would be a liaison with a range of senior managers across divisions, and provide excellent visibility across the TMC.

1. Manage daily operations of the Finance & Reporting Team. The FR&M recruits, trains, supervises, and evaluates department staff; recommending training requirements to ensure that the personnel maintain the highest level of skill necessary to meet TMCs objectives.
2. Provides feedback to corporate with any financial adjustments.
3. Direct and manage the preparation of the semi-annual and annual reports of actual revenues, transfers, and expenses.
4. Direct and coordinate division financial planning and budget management functions (including 5 Quarter Planning, Semi-Annual and Yearly Reviews).
5. Work with management team to update financial forecasts (demand planning and business plans: actual and targets) for the division (monthly, 6, 18, 24 month forecasting).
6. Establish and implement short- and long-range departmental goals (project planning), objectives, policies, and operating procedures; managing internal/external financial audits, as required.
7. Develop and participate in improvement initiatives; providing timely project timeline updates, as required.
8. Team with Pricing and Contract Committee (PCC) to:
- provide financial analysis
- research contract information
- design, establish, and maintain TMCs organizational structure and staffing
