Thomson Reuters Enterprise Platform (REP) is an important new venture in the Enterprise Division. REP is a new platform for integrating our customers' systems, front to back office, combining the capabilities of RMDS, a Securities Master offering, RRDS, and an advanced Integration Platform, REIE.
REP business unit within Enterprise delivers innovative software products on the Thomson Reuters Enterprise Platform
REP is seeking a Senior Software Developer to join a small focussed product delivery team.
Reporting to the REP Development Manager, the Senior Software Engineer:
  • Becomes a member of a small customer-focused product development team
  • Performs the role of a technical lead to a small team of database developers ensuring compliance to functional and non-functional requirements and adherence to software development processes.
  • Is responsible for and takes ownership of all database management components of the REP platform.
  • Works closely with the other development groups like GUI and Integration teams to build a fully integrated solution that is REP
  • Is responsible and for software design, build and test to high quality standards while maintaining the delivery schedule
  • Contributes to overall solution design, working within the overall REP technical architecture
  • Works closely with Product Management and customers to develop innovative solutions to product requirements
  • Adopts advanced software engineering tools and technologies to evolve future solution designs
  • Takes a professional approach to all aspects of software product lifecycle management


Qualifications
  • 8 years development experience with proven track record in solution delivery
    • Database design and development and knowledge of MS SQL Server.
    • Experience with .NET technology stacks
    • Complex systems design and systems integration
    • Software quality assurance and performance management
    • Software Product Lifecycle Management

Educational Requirements

  • Graduate calibre, with Computer Science or similar qualifications

Desired Technical and/or Functional skills

  • Experience of design and development using Oracle/SQLServer/Sybase
  • Data handling in C /Java/C#
  • Application server programming using J2EE and/or .NET stacks
  • Web/GUI design and development in JSP/ASP.NET
  • Awareness of web service design and development to WSI standards
  • Experience with associated IDEs (Jboss, Visual Studio or similar)
  • Experience with high performance/realtime and high availability systems
  • Ability to design and test for performance, capacity and resilience targets
  • Knowledge of capital markets applications and/or data content
  • Experience with RMDS development or implementation and programming to RFA 6 using OMM models is a plus.
  • Experience of industry-leading integration technologies (IBM, Tibco or similar) is a plus
  • Experience of application integration, especially with DataScope or Reuters TRM product portfolios is a plus
  • Knowledge of Reuters development processes, policies and standards is a plus.
