Per Diem Pharmacy Technician (Outpatient)

Description: You’ll assist in various pharmacy activities, under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist, and other duties not requiring the review of a pharmacist. The majority of tasks and responsibilities are related to preparing, dispensing, and distributing medications. Other duties include maintaining patient records, and setting up, packaging, and labeling of medication doses and billing. You will perform job duties under minimal supervision within pharmacy standards, written procedures and guidelines, and state regulatory requirements. You will be responsible for the accurate completion of daily activities and the follow through of tasks to ensure completion. This position is for Mercy's outpatient pharmacy. This position works day time hours during the week and possibly 4 hours on Saturday to provide coverage when staff go on vacation. There are no regularly scheduled hours for this position.

Required Qualifications:

• Certified pharmacy technician with IL licensure
• Previous Technician experience
• Effective verbal and written communication skills

The Mercy inpatient pharmacy is open 24/7 and is a stand-alone pharmacy that is decentralized with 3 floor stations and supported by AcuDose and one cart. The pharmacy staff of 38+ are a valued and integrated part of the hospital healthcare community. Significant technology and automation upgrades are in progress. Management of the pharmacy is outsourced to CPS.
