Job Description
Maintenance Planner
Department:Maintenance
Location:West Chicago, IL

SUMMARY
Plans and schedules maintenance work for all facility Technicians utilizing our Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to improve work force productivity and quality by anticipating and eliminating potential delays through planning, scheduling, and coordination of maintenance resources, parts, materials, and equipment access.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Develops weekly and daily schedules and assists in determining job priorities
  • Plans, schedules, and coordinates corrective, project, and preventive maintenance activities.
  • Manage service contracts for day to day needs, coordinating repairs.
  • Ensures accurate information on work orders, what work is required, and what work was done for proper planning and accurate historical records while making sure CMMS data files are complete and current.
  • Reviews database to ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, company policies and procedures while working towards improving systems.
  • Creates accurate reports within our CMMS as requested and for quarterly management review meetings.
  • Build interdepartmental partnerships between Maintenance and other plant departments with the sole focus of achieving cost-effective equipment reliability excellence.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum of 5 years of maintenance planning within manufacturing environment.
  • In depth knowledge of Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) required: QAD (ERP) and EAM.
  • Experience managing contractors and vendors as a main point of contact.
  • Strong leadership, planning, and problem solving skills
  • Basic computer skills (i.e. Microsoft Excel and Outlook) required.
  • College degree preferred.
  • Bilingual Spanish is preferred.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading.
  • Required to have visual acuity to discern differences between red/green/amber
  • Required to have visual acuity to determine the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of the work assigned or to make general observations of facilities or structures.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
Manufacturing/office environment

  • Subject to both environmental conditions: Activities occur inside and outside.
  • Subject to noise: There is sufficient noise to cause the worker to shout in order to be heard above the ambient noise level.
  • Subject to hazards: Includes a variety of physical conditions, such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, exposure to high heat.
