The Jel Sert Company has an opening for a Bilingual (Spanish) Assistant Receiving Supervisor.


HOURS

The employee in this role will be working 2nd shift, 9:00am - 7:00pm, Monday - Friday. This position will require the employee to work overtime as needed. Overtime is scheduled based upon individual job responsibilities and the needs of the department.


SUMMARY

Assist to coordinate efforts of a labor force of approximately 9 employees to perform duties of Receiving, storage, shipping and stock rotation. Departmental productivity and quality are key drivers of performance. Will require need for flexible hours during the time of year.

This position will require the employee to work overtime as needed. Overtime is scheduled based upon individual job responsibilities and the needs of the department.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Issues job assignments to ensure orders are picked and loaded according to schedule.
  • Evaluates and determines course of action on loading, receiving, and storage problems.
  • Oversee day to day deliveries, and departmental process according to procedures.
  • Determine acceptance/rejection of goods received via inspection when required.
  • Reviewing incoming deliveries paperwork for both accuracy and potential problems.
  • Works with department supervisor in developing solutions.
  • Complete required paperwork.
  • Monitors department safety and procedures ensuring all employees are trained accordingly.
  • Address performance and personnel issues as necessary.
  • Communicate with production departments as needed.
  • Post weekly overtime lists for all shifts.
  • Maintain files, records, and other miscellaneous paperwork.
  • Record keeping of Dietary Supplements according to SQF requirements.
  • Utilize Form weigh system to adjust inventory conducting counts and adjusting inventory according to findings

QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • Bilingual Spanish is required
  • Knowledge of the transportation industry and warehouse operations and how it affects the company.
  • Exposure to warehouse and receiving environment.
  • Strong leadership, planning, and problem solving skills.
  • Experience in a lead role preferred.
  • Effective interpersonal skills and be able to handle confrontational situations professionally.
  • 1-2 years of warehouse inventory experience within a fast-paced environment.
  • Must have basic computer skills (i.e. Microsoft Excel and warehousing systems).
  • High school diploma or equivalent

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Thorough verbal & written communication skills.
  • Highly organized, methodical, disciplined, and detail-oriented.
  • Utilize leadership and team-building skills for employee growth and retention.
  • Must lead by example, morally and ethically.
  • Form weigh and Wyse and/or Manufacturing QAD experience a plus.
  • Forklift experience required.

Manufacturing environment

  • The worker is subject to both environmental conditions: Activities occur inside and outside.
  • The worker is subject to noise: There is sufficient noise to cause the worker to shout in order to be heard above the ambient noise level.
  • The worker is subject to hazards: Includes a variety of physical conditions, such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, exposure to high heat.
