$17 per/hour for graduate students
Duration of the summer internship is between 10 to 14 weeks.
The OpportunityLearning Objectives & Goals:
Learn the structure and reporting hierarchy of the Patina Restaurant Group
Help to develop and consolidate the Weekly reports for management
Help to consolidate and analyze the monthly forecasts, month-end results and other ad hoc financial requests
Help to develop improved financial reporting by improving the existing excel and macro based reporting models and marrying them with new system reporting
Responsibilities/Scope:
Prepare the weekly consolidated financials and summarize commentary to “tell the story” of the company for that operating week
Help to gather data and prepare historical analysis for the benefit of management and the field
Prepare the monthly consolidated forecast data and summarize commentary for the forecast each month
Consolidate month-end results (including true ups) and comment on the drivers that created month-end variances
Coordinate with units to gather information and improve processes for unit analysis of key events and developments in our company
Skill/Competence Development:
Excel mastery – consolidating the data for PRG entails knowledge of macros (VBA) and consolidating many files from shared drive folders
Powerpoint and presentation skills – each new business deal and reporting period will provide the intern with an opportunity to prepare a powerpoint presentation to succinctly summarize the most relevant results and trends
Coordination and Teamwork – the intern will be required to reach out and coordinate with units across NYC, LA, Anaheim and Orlando to gather information, help to roll out requests and initiatives and communicate results
Financial acumen and experience – learn how the restaurant industry functions and identify the challenges and opportunities to improve the business
Requirements:
Pursuing a Degree Pursuing an MBA in Finance preferred
Area of Study(s): Finance and/or Accounting
Software/Technical Skills: Excel, Word, Powerpoint, Hyperion, Foodservice Ace, PeopleManager
Other Skills or Experience: Excel VBA skills preferred
