Job Description:

Location: Erie, PA

Opportunities may be as follows depending on department.

Engineering and Design: You will assist engineers in the development, design, manufacturing, and testing of products for LORD. Typical tasks may include performance/data analysis, prototype construction, application engineering, part change notice processing, customer print reviews/reviewing and understanding customer needs and expectations, preparing product specifications/drawings (conceptualizing and designing cost effective solutions), product performance testing, preparing technical reports, documentation, and project coordination in support of the design engineer/product leader.

Manufacturing: Assignments may include a variety of mechanical related tasks including working with the manufacturing engineers on shop floor execution, cost saving initiatives, troubleshooting, quality improvements, manufacturing instructions, etc. Typical tasks could also include CAD modeling, tool design, data entry, computer analysis, researching potential vendors for new components or materials, application engineering, part change notice processing, customer print reviews/reviewing and understanding customer needs and expectations. You may also triage incoming technical questions and provide for LORD customers, as well as assist with documentation review.

Who We Are Looking For...

  • Must be actively pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, Industrial Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related degree program
  • 3.0 GPA or higher
  • Strong leadership skills and a "can do" attitude
  • Proven ability to handle confidential information.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel
  • Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong analytical, mechanical conceptualization, and problem solving capabilities
  • Strong computer proficiency and the ability to quickly learn new applications
  • Detail-oriented individual with demonstrated organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently (with minimal supervision) and within a team environment
  • Must be able to prioritize work and handle multiple tasks
  • Familiarity using CAD (Autodesk Inventor) or related tools
  • Some experience making technical presentations and report writing
  • Strong innovation and creative thinking; self-motivated
