    Overview

    Aerojet Rocketdyne Coleman Aerospace in Orlando Florida is seeking an Electrical Engineering student for a part-time internship role to support the Electrical Engineering team. This internship role does not have to be tied to a specific semester, and it is desired that it extend beyond a single semester.

    At this location, AR Coleman Aerospace produces complex single, two, and three stage launch vehicles that are used to support ballistic missile defense testing. In this role, the candidate will work tasks supporting the Electrical Engineering team involving design, analysis, integration and troubleshooting.

    Essential Job Functions (Including % of Time for Each)

    20% - Support design and update of electrical circuit schematics and other related engineering documentation.

    20% - Support design and update of electrical network schematics and other related engineering documentation.

    20% - Support electrical engineering analysis.

    20% - Support Non-Conformance (NC) investigations.

    20% - Support Engineering Change Requests (ECR).

    Requirements

    Candidates must be currently enrolled in an accredited academic institution and pursuing an Electrical Engineering degree and completed the following courses:

    • Calculus with Analytic Geometry III
    • General Physics Using Calculus II
    • Engineering Concepts and Methods

    Additional Requirements:

    • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills, experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
    • US Citizenship required. Must also be able to satisfy federal government requirements for access to government information, and having dual citizenship may preclude you from being able to meet this requirement.
    • Understanding of basic electrical engineering fundamentals and completion of the following:
      • Electrical Networks
      • Electronics I

    Desired Qualifications:

    • Active DoD Secret Clearance.
    • Knowledge/experience with Mentor Graphics electrical/electronic design tools.
    • Knowledge/experience with Spice electronic simulation.

    Work Environment and Physical Requirements:

    Employees in these positions must possess mobility to work in a standard office setting and to use standard office equipment, including a computer; stamina to sit and to maintain attention to detail despite interruptions; may occasionally lift/carry/push/pull up to 15 pounds; may require minimal walking, climbing, stooping, crouching, and/or bending; and vision to read printed materials and a computer screen, and hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephone. May require the ability to travel by air or auto. May require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, safety shoes, and shop coat. These positions may be expected to work varying shifts and hours to ensure successful operation of activities in the organization.
