Job Summary:

The Security Manager will lead the development, implementation and management of Generac's security program across the enterprise. This role develops program countermeasures for the protection of personnel, resources, and material across the organization. The position champions access control, surveillance, physical security, active shooter prevention, and travel risk management policies, training, and program deployment. The security manager works closely with cross-functional teams throughout the organization and leads the pursuit of zero security incidents. This role is also responsible for ensuring that processes are conducted in conformance with all applicable federal, state and local laws while maximizing the use of industry best practices.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Ability to properly assess current physical security measures, visitor protocol, policies, surveillance equipment, and alarm points.

Serve as the primary security expert, coordinating efforts to reduce intrusions and enforce loss prevention programs.

Manage the facility access control and video surveillance systems.

Manage and perform the planning, training, inspection, reporting and recordkeeping requirements for all security compliance programs.

Oversee physical security contractors that provide guards, electronic security systems, door construction, door repair, fencing, and access control systems

Directs and develops security strategies and roadmaps to effectively manage risk, respond to incidents, maintain continuity of operations, and safeguard the organization, its employees and customers.

Provide engaging security leadership to cross functional teams and facility employees

Lead Safety and Security Committees within all levels in the organization.

Act as the regional champion for the Drive to Zero program

Conduct audits to ensure that consistent, best-in-class results and compliance are followed to enable operational excellence. Prepare reports of findings with recommendations for corrective action.

Consistently perform Security/Threat Analysis of all worksite facilitates and leads actions for controls and countermeasures.

Leads loss prevention risk mitigation and audit programs in sites within assigned region.

Proactively monitor risks to travelers and partners with cross-functional teams to communicate precautions or advisories to employees.

Serve as principal investigator for security incidents, disturbances, or reported discrepancies

Participate in exercises to test emergency plans and the response capabilities of the emergency response systems.

Lead the coordination and planning of emergency procedures with neighboring EMS and law enforcement agencies.

Implement policies, procedures and programs related to emergency management planning, training, and exercise efforts.

Acts as regional champion for implementation of risk reduction controls
Act as SAP Super User within functional area as assigned
Serve as the Document and Data Management Systems Administrator



Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Physical demands:

Minimal Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a leadership capacity
5 years of progressive strategic Security experience.
3 years of implementation experience with security related programs
Willingness to travel locally up to 30% of the time

Preferred Qualifications:
Master's in Business Administration, Security Management, or related field;
Experience working with private sector/universities or other organizations with global travel expertise.
CHPP, CPP, PSP or equivalent certification
Previous experience with meeting FTZ or CTPAT Security requirements
Experience in de-escalation techniques

Knowledge and Skills:
Thorough working knowledge of security concepts, practices and procedures.

Proven knowledge of security operations and standards;

Demonstrated ability to influence management, teams and individuals across multiple functions within the organization;

Excellent working knowledge of risk analysis tools;

Proven track record of successfully managing shifting deadlines and priorities in a fast paced environment;

Effective verbal and written communication skills; able to train/present to an executive level audience


Physical demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand. The employee frequently is required to use hands to manipulate objects, tools or controls; and talk and hear. The employee is regularly required to walk; stoop; crouch; bend and reach above shoulders. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds unassisted and up to 100 pounds with assistance, waist high, up to 10 feet away. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision and depth perception. While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be working in the typical conditions of a manufacturing environment including seasonal variation in temperatures and occasional exposure to manufacturing fumes or by-products. The employee must comply with the assigned location PPE requirements including but not limited to safety glasses, hearing protection, appropriate gloves, clothing and shields for required tasks and closed toed or safety shoes as required by facility safety policies.
