Generac Power Systems - Work with a global leader in the power industry! Our Corporate Headquarters in Waukesha, WI, is seeking a Director of Product Management to join our expanding Connectivity Solutions Team. This role will lead a team of Product Managers and Business Analysts to build out a roadmap of digital solutions worldwide.

The Director of Product Management leads a team to develop product category strategy, ensures the successful launch of new products and is responsible for lifecycle management. This role prioritizes creation of strategies against business needs and market demand. In this critical role you will lead a team to gather and maintain category foundational research and synthesize data into facts and trends that validate company direction on product and program development. This role owns the innovation-based three year product roadmap and interfaces with Engineering to understand critical I.P. (Intellectual Property) landscape such as new technologies and intellectual property updates.




Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


* Set vision and lead product management and product marketing processes


* Drive Product Management to serve as the advocate for the voice of the customer, consumer, and end-user in product strategy and product development


* Leverage industry expertise and experience build team using world class product roadmaps, streamline product management processes and drive improvements throughout the organization through collaboration with Corporate Marketing, Business Groups, Project Management, and other internal stakeholders


* Designs and directs the work of the functional area. Selects, coaches and develops the team, setting objectives that align with company strategy to inspire and motivate the team. Manages organizational talent through performance management, succession planning and development. Designs and directs processes by which team and individual performance are recognized, feedback is consistently delivered and performance is systematically improved.


* Motivate and inspire the product and engineering teams in the creation, development and execution of the roadmap


* Maintain awareness of Generac industry, markets and business issues


* Build expertise on Connectivity team to collaborate with cross functional departments as it relates to the product development lifecycle process (research, focus, planning, training, communication)


* Define and manage SaaS based solutions


* Build partnership with business groups through strong team portfolio management as a result of voice of customer leading to business case to innovative product concepts and value propositions


* Establish KPI and measure team success for growth opportunities


* Proactively assess, evaluate and enact opportunities across team/function for continuous improvement within the Company


* Drive team disciplines to monitor sales & margin performance of assigned product categories and make recommendations for corrective actions based on results versus plan

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering or related field or equivalent experience
  • 15 years of progressive experience in marketing, business or engineering
  • 7 years management experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's Degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or related field

The employee is regularly required to stand and walk. On occasion the incumbent may be required to stoop, bend or reach above the shoulders. The employee must occasionally lift up to 25 pounds. Specific conditions of this job are typical of frequent and continuous computer-based work requiring periods of sitting; close vision and ability to adjust focus. Occasional travel.
