Primary Responsibilities

The GIS Intern will perform a variety of office and field duties associated with the use of GIS for map production and spatial data development and maintenance.
*Perform data input and editing of spatial and tabular data
*Conduct simple spatial analyses, and prepare maps using ArcGIS or other applicable GIS software
*Perform field data collection as needed using mobile GIS/GPS equipment
*Follow documented technical procedures
*Perform other duties as needed

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

* Must be currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate Engineering program- Dedicated towards a career in GIS.

Ideal candidate would be a Senior expected to graduate in 2020 and is on track to go into their Masters of Science - Geography. Candidates in Masters program pursing a career in GIS.

* Attention to detail a must

* Must possess strong problem-solving and communication skills

* Basic Microsoft Office skills

* An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must

Preferred Qualifications

* Prefer 2 years completed toward degree with 3.0 GPA

* Demonstrated knowledge of software packages related to field of study/industry
