Job Description

This position is responsible for:Working across Corporate and plant Quality teams, product development, research sciences and procurement to initiate all ingredient and packaging supplier approvals. Scope of approved supplier database includes co-packer and International suppliers. Ensures an integrated approved supplier system is maintained with required documentation through the R& D administrative resources. Administers the domestic purchased ingredient supplier testing program. Influences the integrity of the sample testing timeliness and report accuracy in the testing database. Reads and analyzes lab results, and technical documentation from suppliers for the approved supplier database. This assessment includes HACCP/ Food Safety Plans, 3rd party audits, supplier surveys, and all related quality systems documents. Conducts searches on FDA recalls and warning letter activities across the approved supplier base and for new potential suppliers. Responsible for technical document writing requirements including the development of related raw material supplier procedures, technical analysis and reports of supplier incidents. Support ingredient and packaging supplier issue resolutions. Uses problem solving techniques to work with plants, suppliers, and procurement resources on each incident. Lead specific incidents using a standard process and form to document root cause corrective action and connect to the supplier complaint process and performance files. Uses statistical techniques to quantify capability of suppliers to meet ingredient and packaging specifications and for OSC functionality needs. Assists in preparing quality guidance including statistical tools and training material for suppliers and OSC plants where needs are identified. Leads supplier visits and audits as identified by the annual risk-based audit program. Supports the global supplier audit program planning and tracking. Manages the information systems which drive the supplier performance metrics. Creates and generates supplier related performance reports across all approved suppliers. Report management includes related raw material testing results for heavy metals, and the supplier complaint system. The Ideal Candidate Must have: Inspire Trust. Qualifications: 3 years minimum, plus related experience in Food Safety, Quality and/or Product Development working with manufacturing, suppliers and audits. Bachelor's degree required. Food Science, Chemistry, or other Sciences preferred. Excellent collaborative and problem-solving skills. A strong, broad technical background with expertise in the areas of, Quality Systems, Process Control and Auditing Protocols. Must be very familiar with food manufacturing. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required with specific skills in the area of policy and procedure development and documentation. Technical writing experience with procedures and audit reports.
