Customs Systems Specialist
* Review, research, and implement Customs processes. Ensure outcomes are aligned with digital strategy for Customs services and compliance.
* Investigate and identify potential issues with EDI output data and manage tests of new/updated processes
* Manage selection/creation of relevant scenarios and ensure that tests reflect realistic operational business conditions
* Support Customs operations and work with IT in reporting on compliance to data quality and ensure customer digital expectations are being met
* Establishing & utilizing internal controls
* Brokerage branch monitoring
* Automated Commercial Environment (ACE) and ACE Portal reports
* Learning of, and dealing with, import restrictions and PGA requirements
* Post entry activities - audit reviews
* eRecord-keeping requirements and complying with the rules
* Dealing with liquidated damages & audits CBP trade priorities
* Utilizes various reports to ensure all entries are processed in a compliant manner
* Member of the Network Audit Team
* Provide compliance expertise to internal department as needed, to enhance the opportunity to secure new business or ensure high level of satisfaction for current clients
* Performs other duties or projects as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS (SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES REQUIRED)
* Ability to work with minimal supervision
* Problem solving and business analytical skills
* Detail oriented, organized and able to effectively manage multiple priorities
* Effective interpersonal skills and ability to communicate both orally and in writing
* Working knowledge of PGA's - FDA, EPA, USDA, FWS, etc..
* High level of customer service
* Familiarity with customs regulations
Computer Skills
* Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, proficient with Outlook, word, access
* Ability to adapt to new software easily
* Proficient in troubleshooting ABI CATAIR issues
* Understanding of Customs application set up and integration
* Cargowise one experience preferred
Language Skills
* Must be able to read, write, and speak English and local country language
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills a must
Education and/or Experience
* H.S. Diploma required or college preferred
* 4-5 years experience working as an entry writer
* License Customs Broker (preferred but not required)
