The Technical Training Officer, Engineering, Signals & Communication (S&C) is responsible for training S&C employees through the entire S&C Apprenticeship Training Program and Communication Technician Programs, as well as providing updates and refresher trainings to existing employees. The incumbent is required to train, mentor, coach and qualify employees on various S&C techniques. Additional tasks include maintaining training facility equipment, job aids and scheduled maintenance records. Competencies are achieved through classroom courses, practical exercises and on-the-job training.
Main Responsibilities Training DeliveryThe role has standard working conditions in an office environment with a regular workweek day shift from Monday to Friday, with possibility of occasional weekend or off-shift training. The majority of time will be spent delivering training at CN's campus training facility in Homewood, IL. The role requires minimal travel (20%) to carry out field training and quality audits.
