Job Summary:

The talented members of the CF Industries Yazoo City Nitrogen Complex have a passion for safety, performance and are motivated by the team based work approach. The employee in this position will be responsible for analysis of environmental discharges and Process/Product quality assurance samples generated by the Yazoo City Nitrogen production complex. This position will work closely with one or more chemical technicians.

Job Description:

  • Collect samples throughout plant and analyze for quality.
  • Installs catalysts in nitric acid plant.
  • Sets up and calibrates lab equipment for on-stream analysis.
  • Enters analysis results into lab computer.
  • BS Degree in Chemistry from an A.C.S. accredited chemistry program preferred.
  • BS Degree in other physical science disciplines will be considered if strong evidence of laboratory analytical chemistry skill is demonstrated in submission.
  • Minimum of 1 year of laboratory experience preferred.
  • Experience with ICP, FT-IR desired.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills required. Both informal and formal data reporting and use if IT tools will be required. Presentation skills sufficient to communicate thoughts succinctly to Lab Supervisor and Operations Managers. Routine communication with Plant Supervisors and Operators.
  • Excellent time management skills. Must be comfortable working in an environment where priorities change rapidly.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office IT environment including experience with Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

The incumbent will collect product samples throughout a chemical manufacturing facility. Collected samples will be analyzed to ensure a quality product is generated compliant with all safety guidelines thereby actively reinforcing a culture of safety within the work environment. Employees working in this area must be fully committed to CF's Environmental, Health, Safety, Security and Quality objectives. This position requires 12 hour rotating shifts, mandatory overtime and weekends.
