Job Description

Quality Assurance Inspector-12 Hour Night Shift

Quality Assurance Inspector Job Purpose:

Perform laboratory testing to determine product quality for raw materials and finished goods for medical device manufacturing facility.

Quality Assurance Inspector Job Duties:

  • Perform analytical laboratory testing of raw materials and finished goods utilizing automated measuring equipment and other measuring devices (rulers, calipers, thermometers, pin gauges, test weights, etc.)
  • Read and interpret product specifications, product drawings, work instructions (procedures) in order to determine product quality requirements.
  • Work in a high performing team environment.
  • Perform equipment calibrations.
  • Properly and legibly fill out inspection documentation and take required action based on results.
  • Utilize computer software to enter data into various programs, including Excel, SAP, and other equipment specific software.
  • Ability to work in a Clean Room, while wearing protective clothing, in order to perform required inspections in a controlled environment.
  • Effectively communicate with various functions throughout the organization.
  • Good basic mathematical aptitude required including percentages, fractions, +/- tolerances, unit conversions, and rounding to appropriate decimal places
  • Must be able to lead oral presentations as part of team-based visual performance management.

Skills/Qualifications:

Must have completed high school or received GED. Will need to demonstrate basic mathematical capabilities, as well as good communication and writing skills. Experience in manufacturing or laboratory environment preferred. Physical qualifications: Must have the ability to lift 55 lbs., climb ladders, read measuring equipment, such as rulers, to 1/64 of an inch. Flexibility to work up to 12 hours per day based on work load requirements. Must pass basic math test. A positive personality is imperative as this is a team based environment and all associates are required to collaborate with one another to drive continuous improvement and implement team based solutions to challenges, striving for world class performance.
