We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Developer II at our corporate offices in Plantation. The ideal candidate analyzes, designs, develops, tests and implements new application components; and maintains and optimizes already deployed Enterprise applications.

Responsibilities
    Demonstrates high-level technical skills and shows technical leadership abilities.
  • Assists in defining, documenting and developing software in collaboration with the project team.
  • Contributes to the review and analysis of business requirements.
  • Performs business analysis using Lean Enterprise methods, and Kaizen tools to map and automate processes.
  • Leads or contributes to the architecture and technical design discussions, code reviews and technical designs/specifications.
  • Designs and develops software applications according to specifications, adhering to all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle and the standard enterprise architecture.
  • Possesses expert knowledge in Performance, Scalability, Security, Enterprise System Architecture, and Engineering best practices.
  • Creates thorough, professional quality project documentation and technical specifications.
  • Documents test cases and executes tests to ensure quality software is delivered.
  • Assists in evaluating software change requests, determines business needs or conducts root cause analysis, and implements technically efficient solutions.
  • Assesses the impact of software changes and new development on other systems; conducts integration tests to mitigate risks.
  • Takes technical direction from senior team members and participates in a knowledge-sharing environment.
  • Provides timely, comprehensive verbal and written status reports and work plans.
  • Partners with IT and Business teams and follows through with problem resolution.
  • Provides reasonable work estimates and communicates deviations from estimates or work product in advance of deadlines.
  • Develops, monitors, and tracks the progress of action plans.
  • Proactively recommends, schedules, and performs software improvements and upgrades.
  • Trains end users to operate new or modified programs.
  • Reads and abides by the company's code of conduct, ethics statements, employee handbook(s), policies and procedures and other corporate mandates, including participation in mandatory training programs.
  • Reports any real or suspected violation of the corporate compliance program, company policies and procedures, harassment or other prohibited activities in accordance with the reporting policies of the company.
  • Obtains clarification of policy whenever necessary and may use the resources available through the Compliance, Human Resources or Legal Department to do so.
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Education/Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree from four-year college or university and 4 or more years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • 4+ years of IT experience in a variety of positions including applications development and business process reengineering. Knowledge of network infrastructure, security and authentication processes.
  • Working experience with all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
  • Knowledge of implementing and managing Privacy, Security Policies
  • Able to communicate effectively with non-technical staff and with members of interdisciplinary teams.
  • Keeps current on emerging software technology and makes recommendations.
  • Strong written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to conduct research into software-related issues and products.
  • Highly self-motivated and directed.
  • Keen attention to detail.
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
  • Experience working both independently and in a, team-oriented, collaborative environment.

  • Works extra hours as required to meet project deadlines. Available for "on-call" as needed.
  • Some travel may be required for the purpose of off-site software installation.

Computer Skills

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of:

  • Solid background designing and implementing applications using technologies defined by the Sheridan Standard Enterprise Architecture.
  • 4+ years' experience designing and developing enterprise level applications using .Net and related technologies including MS SharePoint.
  • Desired experience: XML/XSL, Web Services, SOA architecture, ESB, WCF, TFS , SQL Server, ASP.NET, C #, Visual Studio 2010/2012, Biz Talk(Optional)
  • Demonstrated experience in the full life cycle support of applications using XMS/XSL, Web Services, SOA Architecture, ESB, WCF, Team Foundation Server, SQL Server, SharePoint 2007, C#, Visual Studio 2008, and Biz Talk.
  • Experience applying Design Patterns.
  • Experience with UML design and using modeling tools.
  • Experience developing highly scalable web applications.
  • Working experience with all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
  • Ability to work independently and proactively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • A willingness to mentor, with strong analytical and documentation skills.
