We currently have an exciting opportunity available for an experienced Systems Engineer III. THIS IS A 100% REMOTE OPPORTUNITY.

Responsibilities

The System Engineer III's role is to support the design and implementation of systems within Envision Physician Services. These responsibilities include all software and hardware installed on the development and production servers, storage, end-user systems, appliances, and any interfacing systems. Our infrastructure is primarily Linux in AWS and an ideal candidate will have a background in the build, maintenance, and deploy cycle in this or like environment.

    Design and implement highly available computer systems. May oversee complex implementations spanning several projects.
  • Perform installations and maintenance in AWS, datacenters and remote offices. Perform installations of Linux Operating Systems on remote, physical and virtual machines.
  • Develops presentations and educates staff at all levels on technology concerns.
  • Proactively monitor the infrastructure for potential problems and perform steps to reduce or prevent these problems.
  • Write or modify scripts to enhance functionality, performance, automation, and maintenance as necessary. Must have scripting experience. There is a requirement to improve processes through optimization and automation across all areas.
  • Develop and manage technical project plans.
  • Respond to issues reported by users or applications. Resolve these problems related to applicable systems with other technical support when necessary.
  • Work with users to determine business requirements. Develop highly available systems to meet these requirements.
  • Recommend, schedule, and perform software improvements and upgrades related to applicable systems.
  • Liaise with vendors for efficient implementation of system products and for resolution of any issues.
  • Conduct research on emerging products and standards related to systems.
  • Participate in product evaluations and proof of concept exercises.
  • Contribute to department and company policies
  • Create and update technical documentation including logical and physical diagrams utilizing tools such as Microsoft Visio and/or LucidChart.
  • Work in a team-oriented and matrixed environment
  • Responsible for adhering to Information Security Policies and ensuring Envision is as secure as possible.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree from four-year College or University and a minimum of 4 or more years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to set up, configure, and support internal and/or external networks.
  • Develop and maintain all systems, applications, security, and configurations.
  • Troubleshoot infrastructure performance issues.
  • Create and maintain a disaster recovery plan.
  • Recommend upgrades, patches, and new applications and equipment.
  • Develop and maintain documentation of systems, applications, and networks.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to the support teams and users.
  • Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, best practices, industry standards, and procedures within a particular field.
  • Rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
  • Demonstrate ability to follow through without direct supervision.
  • Participate in on-call support schedule for 24 hour support structure.
  • Guide and instruct members of IT on technology, applications, process and best practice.
  • Sometimes lead and direct the work of others.
  • Demonstrate ability to shift between multiple tasks/projects.
  • A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required.
  • Strong written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Able to communicate effectively with non-technical staff and with members of interdisciplinary teams.
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
  • Experience working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
  • Certification is a plus (RHCE,RHCA, RHCSA, LINUX+, LPIC GCUX).
