Job Description

COMPANY: Gateway FS

HIRING MANAGER: Jacob Frank

LOCATION: Waterloo, IL

PURPOSE AND SUMMARY STATEMENT

Under the direction of the Location Manager, custom applies crop protection products, delivers products, maintains and repairs plant and application equipment. Will Assist in the daily operations; maintain a positive working environment for employees and customers

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Applies plant food inputs to fields and growing crops according to recommended rates, procedures, and following all pesticide labels

Records application data according to regulations and standards keeping an accurate custom application log

Blends/mixes products according to recommended rates and procedures

Maintenance and repair on all vehicles, fertilizer and chemical equipment, and all other building facilities, equipment involved in the operational function of Gateway FS

Responsible for the inventory control and turns in application records on a daily basis.

Assures all product is accounted for with either an invoice or delivery ticket

Sets up material handling, blending, storage, transport and application equipment for blending and delivery of products.

Repairs and rebuilds equipment as needed

Stay up-to-date on new hardware and maintenance requirements for custom application equipment

Maintain an accurate load out log report on all products (daily load out)

Maintain an accurate daily driver log books

Mix and load trucks, tenders, customer, and other location spray equipment when needed

Make certain that all loads are loaded properly and that all necessary paperwork is given to the correct personnel

Deliver products to customer according to company standards and to increase potential sales

Supervise and teach any co-workers provided to assist you in your duties

Conduct and over see that all chemical containers are properly triple rinsed and stored

Maintain all Department of Agriculture weekly, monthly, inspection reports

When asked, assist all other departments and locations of Gateway FS

Follow all safety practices and procedures

OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS

Responsible for maintaining company equipment according to company standards, adheres to the company Uniform Policy, and maintains the appropriate professional image

Inform manager of needed repairs

Maintain proper housekeeping

Assist the Location Manager that facility grounds are kept in order at all times

Display a good judgment, positive attitude, with customers, and fellow employees

Other duties as assigned from time to time

Assist LP and Petroleum salesman in the "set up" and "breakdown" of equipment

Proven ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment

Understanding of basic computer skills as they relate to the custom application business

CORE COMPETENCIES

Demonstrated core competencies including business knowledge, collaboration, communication, customer focus, decision making and skill development

OTHER REQUIREMENTS

Hold a driver's license with Class A CDL with "X" endorsement and comply with all Gateway FS requirements for CDL's and other State and Federal driving rules and regulations

Hold Illinois Department of Agriculture Operators License or be able to obtain one

Ability to perform minor equipment maintenance and repair

Be capable of lifting a minimum of 70lbs of product at one time.

Be capable of walking up stairways, steps and ladders to a minimum height of six feet

Work hours beyond what is considered normal and sometimes with little notice (evenings, weekends and some holidays)

ALSO PREFORM OTHER DUTIES THAT MAY ARISE FROM TIME-TO-TIME BE REQUESTED BY THE MANAGEMENT TEAM OF GATEWAY FS
