Overview:

Echo's legal department is looking to add a compliance manager who is motivated and deadline driven to join its four-person team. This role will be focused on managing compliance projects, keeping up to date on employment and regulatory rule changes, and driving policy initiatives- all aimed at ensuring Echo is in compliance in all aspects of its business. The compliance manager will work closely with HR to advise on changes to federal, state and local law and manage execution of any corresponding changes to employment policies and practices. Candidates should have excellent organizational, prioritization and time management skills and the ability to work independently.

Duties and Responsibilities:


* Research and review all changes to employment, transportation, data privacy and other laws related to Echo's business
* Act as project manager on a wide range of initiatives, which may include policy and handbook revisions, development of new SOPs, modification of document templates, and development of new processes.
* Provide guidance to HR regarding employee relations issues
* Manage all aspects of EEO and affirmative action reporting
* Handle all aspects of unemployment claims

Required Skills and Qualifications:

5-7 years of compliance or employee relations experience

Must have excellent project-management skills

Must work well with others and able to ensure timely performance of the group

Must be well-organized, detail-oriented and possess superior communication skills

Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and able to manage multiple tasks in a short time frame

Must be self-motivated to meet deadlines

Prior experience at a publicly-traded company is preferred, but not required

Work environment/physical demands summary:

This job operates in an office environment and uses a computer, telephone and other office equipment as needed to perform duties. The noise level in the work environment is typical of that of an office with an open seating floor plan. The employee may encounter frequent interruptions throughout the work day. The employee is regularly required to sit, talk, or hear.
