Our location in Abbott Park (Lake Bluff), Illinois currently has an opportunity for a Biologics Laboratory Logistics Specialist. This position will initially be responsible for the day to day logistical operations of the Biologics Discovery laboratories maintaining the infrastructure inclusive of ordering supplies, RCE generation, facility management, equipment repair and qualification, safety inspections, and shipment of biologics to assay development sites. This position is critical and supports our mission of providing high quality, safe, effective, and stable biologics for Abbott Diagnostics immunoassay and clinical chemistry discovery programs. WHAT YOU'LL DO: Main Responsibilities Include: Day to Day Activity: * Laboratory inventory management * Common reagent preparation * Capital equipment request processing * Capital equipment service contracts (establish and maintain) * Capital equipment preventive maintenance and repairs. * Facility (lab) updates and repairs * Facility/Lab safety inspections * Shipping of biologic materials EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE YOU'LL BRING: Required * B.S./M.S. in life of physical science. * Basic Computer Skills. Knowledge of analytical instruments assigned by supervisor. PREFERRED EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION, ETC.: * Basic understanding of current methods in biochemistry and molecular biology * Strong written and verbal communication * Commitment to high quality work * Ability to learn new systems and troubleshoot problems WHAT WE OFFER At Abbott, you can have a good job that can grow into a great career.
