Minimum Qualifications
* High School Diploma or GED equivalent is required (must provide proof at time of interview)
* Must have an Illinois Lead Risk Assessor license
* OR
Successful completion of a US Department of Labor registered building trade apprenticeship training program and journeyman status, supplemented by two (2) years of progressively responsible journey level building trade experience, or five (5) years of progressively responsible skilled building construction or building inspection experience, or graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's degree in Architecture or construction related engineering, or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Must be able to obtain an Illinois Lead Risk Assessor license within six (6) months of starting employment is required
* Prior experience preparing clear, accurate, and timely reports and letters is required
* Prior experience working with state statutes and local ordinances concerning public health standards and regulations is required
* Position requires moderate to heavy local travel for which the employee must possess a valid driver's license and insured vehicle or otherwise provide an acceptable and reliable means of transportation is required
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and other Characteristics
* Thorough knowledge of state statutes and local ordinances concerning public health standards and regulations.
* Knowledge of building construction, building codes, and home maintenance.
* Knowledge in the use of Microsoft Office Word and Excel
* Demonstrate ability to handle self well and display professional demeanor when dealing with the general public
* Ability to prepare reports that are clear, accurate and timely.
