We are currently looking to add a seasoned Field Service Technicians who embraces teamwork, collaboration, employee development, accelerated growth while having some fun along the way! Specific responsibilities include: This position description identifies the major responsibilities of this job. It does not include all aspects of the position such as the potential additional duties assigned by supervisors and the requirement for flexibility in helping others for the company's overall benefit. POSITION SUMMARY The Field Service Technician, Integration is responsible to deliver total equipment lifecycle management services that optimize the performance of OEM equipment throughout its entire life cycle. These services include installation, start-up/commissioning, preventive maintenance, emergency repairs, audits and training. The Field Service Technician travels to customer sites to perform planned services, troubleshoot issues, make repairs, recommend spare parts and provide upgrades/modernization. A qualified candidate will be self-motivated, professional, energetic, positive, and disciplined to be able to perform in time-pressured and intensive work environments. ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES In House * Responsible for the successful completion of machines and integrated projects. o Champion integrated projects and coordinate efforts within the organization. o Facilitate on-going communication with internal staff to ensure successful completion of project. o Proactively identify potential issues and work with customers, sales, engineering and operations to resolve. o Escalate issues to senior management. o Ensure requirements for project are completed. * Follow integrated projects and machines into the field to ensure successful installation/completion of project. * Prepare machines to meet sales order specification, customer change orders and engineering change orders. Is responsible for being in compliance with all written requests. o Download PLC, HMI and robot programs. Edit and/or modify programs as required. o Perform mechanical and electrical inspections. o Test and make adjustments to systems and machines following general procedures and methods. o Troubleshoot and/or debug machinery and systems. o Make adjustments as required on electrical and mechanical components of the machines by working with Machine Shop, Mechanical Assembly, Electrical Assembly, and Engineering. * Perform AQL's. * Perform and/or participate in Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT's). * Identify and document all changes utilizing Final Assurance testing procedures. * Follow all FA department procedures and testing protocols (MAP board, AQL, budget, etc). * Submit all documentation to Sales, Mechanical/Electrical Engineering and Production Managers. * Responsible for becoming the Subject Matter Expert (SME) on Integrated Systems. As the SME will conduct training and be responsible for certifying technicians. In the Field * Conduct field service calls at customer sites to provide installation, commissioning, emergency repair, preventive maintenance, audits, retrofits and training services. * Perform mechanical and electrical modifications including PLC programs and servo drive configuration. * Conduct site visit meetings with customer contacts to include explanation of job scope and work completed * Conduct training with customer's personnel to ensure understanding of the sequence of operations, proper functionality, and general maintenance of equipment. * Achieve service delivery goals including response time, first time fix and customer satisfaction rates. * Communicate effectively with field service management and internal service support team to efficiently resolve customer issues * Provide off-hour and weekend emergency technical support on a scheduled rotation. * Responsible for timely and accurate documentation of all service activities * Provide equipment reliability feedback to quality engineering and collaborate on improvements. * Attend training classes and technician meetings as required. * Comply to industry, company and customer safe working practices. * Extensive travel up to 75%, including overnight. POSITION SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES * Analytical and Problem Solving * Decision Making * Troubleshooting and Debugging * Customer Focused * Self-Management - Manages time and resources to achieve objectives * Teamwork * Effective Communication Skills - written and verbal * Technical Competencies: o Solid knowledge and interaction of mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic components. o Interpret complex technical information involving mechanics and electronics, including schematics. o AB CompactLogix PLC and RSLogix500/5000 programming. o Minor modifications to PLC programs including ability to add rungs, add timers, open and close contacts. o Access networks though PLC to troubleshoot issues, download and upload programs. o AB PanelView HMI programming. o Variable Frequency Drive (VFD) parameter configuration. o Servo drives and motors configuration. o Knowledge with robotics and industrial robot applications. o Microsoft Windows Office Suite of applications, terminal emulation software, networking communication. POSITION REQUIREMENTS * Must be at least 21 years of age, with a valid driver's license, good driving record and passport. * Associate or bachelor's degree in Mechatronics is desired. * EE, EET, EECS or Industrial Electronics degree is a plus. * Minimum of five years' experience troubleshooting and repairing electro-mechanical machines in the field. * Military experience a plus. * PLC integration experience a plus. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand for a minimum of 8 hours per day. The employee is frequently required to grasp, handle, and feel objects, control and manage tools, and use hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to walk, stoop, kneel and crouch. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. WORK ENVIRONMENT While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate but at times loud. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles.
