Job Description
**Title:** Manager, Quality Assurance **Location:** United States-Illinois-Wood Dale **Job Number:** 12162 **SUMMARY:** Develops and maintains the quality systems to assure all products and services provided by AAR to our customers meet regulatory/industry requirements, company standards and end-user specifications, and are suitable for their intended use. Demonstrates continuous effort to improve operations, work processes, and works cooperatively and jointly to provide quality seamless customer service. Provides management and leadership to the AAR Wood Dale Defense Warehouse Quality Department. **ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:** + Maintain Quality Control programs to ensure conformity of purchased material. + Ensure corrective and preventative action system (APRISe) usage and timely reporting, verification, and closeout of issues, including root cause analysis, and human factors. + Acts as the focal point for Wood Dale Warehouse Defense Quality intercompany representation to discuss and resolve quality problems as required. + Primary contact for Wood Dale Defense Quality to regulatory agencies (DLA, DCMA). + Prepares for and represents the company during all U.S. Government, DoD, and customer quality audits (process, product, and quality systems). + Will be expected to show continued understanding and utilization of US Department of Defense regulations (FARs, DLADs, DFARs, etc.). + Responsible for identifying productivity events and creating metrics to monitor, capture, trend, report, and correct any negative productivity trends. + Prepares all necessary reports as required by customers and staff personnel. + Reviews technical problems and procedures of departments and recommends solutions to problems or changes in procedures and processes. + Supports receiving, in-process, and final inspection activities and/or personnel to ensure product quality is maintained. + Develop Quality and Safety plans for new, existing or revised materials and products to ensure Quality and Safety in accordance with company, customer, regulatory/industry requirements. + Ensure the reviewing and updating of department Operating Procedures, Process Flow Charts, Work Instructions, and provide Corrective action training. + Promote the pursuit of continuous improvement. + Administer effective training and on the job training of Quality Control inspectors + All other duties as assigned. **SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:** + Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organizations policies and applicable laws. + Responsibilities include interviewing, training employees, planning, assigning, and directing work, appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees, addressing complaints and resolving problems. **CORE COMPETENCIES:** + Commitment to company values and ethics + Dependability: personally responsible, completes work in a timely manner, and performs tasks accurately + Motivation: must maintain a positive attitude and strong work energy + Organization: very detail oriented and always comes prepared + Communication: excellent interpersonal and oral and written communication skills + Teamwork: works harmoniously with others to get a job done, responds positively to instructions/procedures, and works well with others + Analytical skills: must be able to gather information and use data to determine cause and effect for complex problem solving + Initiative: plans work and carries out tasks without detailed instructions, prepares for problems or opportunities in advance, undertakes additional responsibilities Qualifications: **EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:** + Bachelor of Arts degree (B.A.) or Bachelor of Science degree (B.S.) from four-year college or university; or 2 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. + Exposure to Warehouse Operations is required. + PC Literate (Microsoft Office) **PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORK ENVIRONMENT:** The physical demands and work environment characteristics described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
