Job Description
Job Brief

Responsible for internal and external sanitation.

Job Summary:

Under the supervision of the QA Lead, the Sanitary worker is responsible for the internal and external sanitation of filling, rinsing, and warming equipment and the cleanliness of these areas in compliance with the federal and state sanitation laws and plant standards.

Job Requirements:

  • High School diploma / GED
  • Previous experience as a sanitizer is a plus
  • Able to read, write and communicate in English
  • Perform basic calculator functions and chemical handling
  • Ability to interpret data, trouble shoot and solve issues
  • Ability to safely operate forklift
  • Able to frequently lift and carry up to 50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation

Job Expectations:

  • Self - directed in the completion of daily tasks and responsibilities with minimal supervision
  • Completion of tasks per written procedures and as directed by QA Manager
  • Ability to operate all sanitation equipment
  • Attention to detail
  • Knowledge of filling and CIP process

Job responsibilities:

  • Interpret and complete the sanitation schedule
  • Work in a safe and controlled manner - by using correct PPE as required, follow Safety, GLP's, GMP's, and security guidelines and procedures at all times
  • Inspect products and equipment for conformity to sanitation laws and standards
  • Monitor condition of sanitation equipment and report any deterioration conditions or mechanical concerns
  • Compile required reports regarding regular inspections, sanitation violations, and steps taken to resolve deficiencies
  • Keep detailed and accurate reports
  • Understand sanitation theory and methodology
  • Develop housekeeping standards and monitor cleaning practices
  • Perform preventive maintenance and minor repair on machines as necessary
  • Responsible for pest control procedures (i.e. mousetraps, bug lights)
  • Assist in cleaning of non-production areas in the facility
  • Safe/skilled usage of a forklift if necessary
  • Perform all required quality checks, documentations, logs, complete all proper paperwork, and verify accuracy
  • Demonstrate ownership of the job and add to the success of the team
  • Adhere to chemical testing requirements, methods, and frequencies
  • Perform microbiological sample collection
