MACHINE OPERATOR, Secondary 2nd Shift, 3:30 pm – 2:00 am Monday - Thursday Some overtime may be required during the week and on Fridays as necessary.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Set-up, change over and operate our foam cutting secondary operations machinery such as waterjet cutter, F&K slitter, hand and vertical profile machines, die cutters and down cutter equipment.
Perform all necessary adjustments to produce quality products.
Complete all quality check paperwork and procedures for each job produced.
Lead a crew of workers as required.
Perform all lower-level duties when required and as assigned.
Understand and demonstrate safe work practices at all times to prevent personal injury.
Inform supervisor of any safety or quality issues.
Maintain equipment as directed by supervisor.
Maintain good housekeeping practices.
Regular, consistent physical attendance.
Comply with all Company policies and procedures.
Other tasks and duties as assigned.
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
Ability to read and understand the following:
Simple CAD Drawings
Simple Blueprints
Sales Orders and work instructions
Ability to make accurate measurements using a tape measure or Vernier caliper.
Ability to calculate yield on Skills Assessment Test given.
Able to work scheduled work hours along with some required overtime.
Complete a math assessment (fractions/decimals, tape measure, calculating yield; 2D &3D)
Ability to perform all physical requirements for change over and operations for extended periods of time, including but not limited to:
Bending, reaching
lifting (up to 50 lbs.)
kneeling, stooping
stretching
standing for extended periods of time
Ability to communicate effectively in the English language (speak, read and write)with co-workers and work effectively as part of a team.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS: High School degree and/or equivalent preferred but not necessary.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Previous experience in a manufacturing environment is a plus but not necessary. Will consider those without experience with a great attitude and a willingness to learn. Forklift training is a plus but will train on site.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Ability to pass a background and drug/alcohol screen test.
Starting Pay includes: $16.50 per hour plus a $2.00 per hour attendance bonus if consistent, dependable attendance is maintained – for an effective regular wage of up to $18.50 per hour. Increases of 50¢ per hour after three months. Another 50¢ per hour at six months, for an $19.50 hourly wage, if attendance bonus is maintained (further annual increases are possible).
