Position Highlights:

• Position: Dental Hygienist
• Location: Evanston Hospital
• Full Time/Part Time: Resource, per department need
• Hours: The schedule will fluctuate depending on when the schedule is open. Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday 8:00am-4:30pm. Tuesday 8:00am-1:00pm. Maximum number of hours per week 20 hours.
• Required Travel: N/A

What you will need:

• License: Licensed to practice dental hygiene in the state of Illinois and current cardiopulmonary resuscitation certification.
• Education: 2 years of college or state certification from an accredited dental assistant school or minimum of 2 years on the job work experience. Graduate of an accredited dental hygiene program.
• Certification: State certification/licensure from an accredited dental hygiene school. Completion of state recognized local anesthetic course within one year of hire.
• Experience: Minimum of 2 years on-the-job work experience in the dental field.
• Skills: Ongoing continuing education courses

What you will do:

• The purpose of this job is to provide optimal dental health for patients seen in the Dental Center.
• The dental hygienist works under the supervision of the Dental Center dentists.
• Practice includes oral prophylaxis procedures, exposure and processing of X-Ray films of the teeth and surrounding structures, the application of chemical compounds designed to be desensitizing agents or effective agents in the prevention of carries, administration of local anesthetics, scaling and root planning and services which may be performed by a dental assistant.
