Position and Responsibilities
As a Sr. Packaging Engineer with Middough, you will support various food and beverage, consumer products and pharmaceutical projects. This position will primarily include remote work on a part-time basis with potential travel based on client needs.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
  • Provide project team support in the areas of high-speed packaging equipment, such as, bottling, bagging/pouching, case packing, palletizing, and conveying to meet project requirements. 
  • Provide project team support in the areas of equipment system design, operation, installation and start-up/commissioning experience with filling/packaging various container types and sizes for powders, liquids, and solids.
  • Interface with equipment vendors and being proficient with design and integration requirements is important. 
  • Assist the project team in all phases of project discovery, approval, and delivery. 
  • Travel to multiple client plant sites as needed.

Education, Experience and Skills
The successful candidate will possess the following:
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering required.
  • PE license preferred.      
  • 12 or more years of relevant experience in engineering consulting and/or manufacturing and foods industry.
  • Food and pharma packaging system experience.
  • Experience with high-speed packaging equipment, such as, bottling, bagging/pouching, case packing, palletizing, and conveying.
  • Experience with equipment system design, operation, installation and start-up/commissioning experience with filling/packaging various container types and sizes for powders, liquids, and solids.
  • Working experience in the Life Science, Process Chemical or Petroleum Refining industries.
  • Strong technical, organizational and communication skills required.
  • Ability to develop creative solutions to challenging problems.
  • High level of leadership experience and teamwork skills.
  • Proficient in use of MS Project, Excel, Word and Outlook.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
