The Tax Manager is primarily responsible for supporting the Tax Director with managing the tax function including foreign and domestic federal, state and local tax compliance, income tax provisions, tax audits, tax credits, tax research/planning, restructuring/M&A, expatriate tax and transfer pricing/BEPS.

Responsibilities
    Manages the data flow, prepares and reviews preparation of corporate federal, state, local and foreign income/franchise tax returns, estimated payments/extension requests, and various tax audits.
  • Assist with preparation of income tax provisions.
  • Gathers financial data and assists with preparing transfer pricing/BEPS reports.
  • Advise on global indirect tax management including property tax, sales/use, excise tax, gross receipts tax and VAT/GST.
  • Assist legal department with annual report filings and business license registrations.
  • Review and respond to IRS and state tax notices.
  • Assist with various tax related projects including corporate legal entity chart, FBAR, R&D study, 179d study, obtaining tax residency certification and expatriate taxes.
  • Assist with M&A and global restructuring projects as needed.
  • Keep informed of federal, state/local and international tax legislation impacting the firm and assist in communicating new tax policies and procedures to internal business partners.
  • Identify, recommend and implement tax process improvements.
  • Manage comprehensive tax calendar and track filing obligations.
Qualifications
  • At least 4+ years of relevant US and international tax experience. Experience with tax provisions highly desirable.
  • CPA designation or candidate status preferred
  • Minimum Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, economics, or related field
  • Experience in reviewing federal and state/local corporate tax filings
  • Proven ability to identify tax risks and savings opportunities in complex business transactions
  • Proficiency in Excel/Word and financial reporting systems (Deltek a plus)
  • AE&C background preferred, not required
  • Desire and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to adapt to change and work independently as well as collaborate cross-functionally
  • Excellent prioritization and organizational skills
  • Strong command of written, verbal and presentation and research skills
