Steptoe & Johnson's growing San Francisco office is looking for an associate with 3+ years of litigation experience in state and federal courts. Excellent writing, research, and analysis skills-specifically with regards to drafting motions and briefs, and handling discovery- are required. Experience with environmental and consumer product regulations and laws is a plus but not required, as is a background or interest in applying science to defending cases. The associate would work with a diverse team of seasoned lawyers who represent companies large and small, both domestic and international, and who manufacture and sell a variety of consumer and food products in California. The job is interesting, you learn about new industries and products, you will be involved in negotiations, you won't have an empty plate, and you will obtain valuable hands-on experience readying cases for trial. You will be part of a team of lawyers who work collaboratively and treat each other equally to chart defense strategy.
