Job Description

Role / Title

TheSr Economist, US Zone will be critical in helping the US Leadership team understand and react to the impact of economic factors on our business. This role will be the chief economist for the US Zone, working with the US Finance team, Business Units and external partners to create and execute research and analyses that will help address key business problems. This position will apply the frontiers of economic thinking on design, pricing, macroeconomics, microeconomics, strategy, and other areas. This role will build econometric models, use KHC's data infrastructure, and apply economic theory to solve business problems in a fast-moving environment.


Key Responsibilities include:

  • Own the primary Industry forecasting model for the US Zone, which will drive all key forecasts for the US business
  • Develop econometric models for ad hoc requests, projects and on-going measurements, and increasing efficiency by operationalizing data feeds from various data sources
  • Partner with Government Affairs team to determine the impact of Policy changes to our business and make actionable recommendations to mitigate or maximize those impacts
  • Present to the US Leadership team on significant economic changes, particularly in preparation for key forecasting cycles.
  • Design experiments to validate causal results derived from observational data
  • Partner with other areas of the US Organization to formulate and produce actionable analyses
  • Keys to success in this role include exceptional analytics, statistics, judgment, and communication skills. The candidate will need to be able to extract insights from data and be able to clearly communicate appropriate triggers and actions

Minimum Qualifications

  • Experience with modelling large individual-level datasets
  • Experience finding practical solutions for ambiguous and challenging business questions
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced business environment.
  • Strong research track record
  • 5-7 years of experience in Economics, Data Science, or related field
  • Experience with econometrics and databases.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Masters degree
  • Experience using Python, Stata
  • Consulting or equity research Experience
  • Understanding of the economic drivers of CPG businesses, with a quantitative background.
  • Ability to communicate with people from various backgrounds.
  • Contribution to research communities and/or efforts, including submitting research papers within Economics.
