Job Description
JOB SUMMARY:

NRTC Broadband Solutions is looking for Field Engineers to join our growing team . The NRTC Broadband Solutions Field Engineer is responsible for collecting pole attachment data, make ready notes, and placing initial locations of design items. The position requires working outside in all types of weather (extreme cold, heat, wind).

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Ability to follow OSHA/State/Local Safety Standards
  • Identify electric and communication make-ready per NESC and local requirements
  • Communicate QC/QA results with OSP team
  • Collaborate with OSP team to ensure network design requirements are being met
  • Identify electric and/or communication make-ready
  • Accurately identify required anchoring/guying
  • Determine required placement method
  • Identify anchoring if needed
  • Working ability to QC/QA aerial field info
  • Accurately determine if path is to be aerial or underground
  • Indicate if directional bore or trenching is to be utilized
  • Identify potential road blocks and make clear note as action to avoid/take
  • Other related duties as assigned.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Generally, 5-7 related years of experience
  • Specialized training includes aerial construction experience or OSP engineering
SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
  • Computer skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Office & SmartSheet products
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and verbal communications skills.
  • Strong command of RUS construction standards
  • Accurate operation of GIS data collection tools
  • Above average skills in verbal communication
  • Demonstrated ability to work outside in all weather conditions
  • Ability to interact in a positive manner with internal and external customers. Ability to travel as required.
